UOL does not believe in the one-method-fits-all philosophy. We evaluate each student to identify their strengths and weaknesses and design our courses accordingly to complement their needs for future growth. We pride ourselves on offering courses tailored to our students needs.
Our Courses
Our courses are tailored to the specific language needs and exam requirements of our students. All courses are available as One-on-one, Semi-private (2 students), Small Group (3-7 students) and Private Group (self-organized) teaching. These not only allow a quality teaching that is tailored to the student’s needs but also allow us to offer a variety of courses to meet each student’s goals efficiently.
Language Courses are offered from Beginner to Advanced levels and are taught by native teachers whereas Exam Prep & Academic Courses are offered in academic programmes including IB, GCE, GCSE, SAT, AP, HKDSE, IELTS, DELE, DELF, DALF, TestDaf, HSK, etc. and are taught by fully qualified and experienced teachers.

Our Teachers
We look for the most effective and experienced teachers who have demonstrated they can provide expert instruction to our students.
Teachers we allow to join our team are:
Native speakers of the language with qualifications at a Certificate, Diploma, Masters and/or Doctorate Level
Qualified teachers with sound teaching experience
Experienced in teaching kids, children, teens and adults
Possess a strong cultural awareness and background of working with different cultural groups and are sensitive to learners needs
Regularly participate at in-house teacher training workshops for further development
Regularly exchange teaching ideas and provide up-to-date teaching materials, methodology and new techniques
To understand and respect the different styles of students, we make sure our teachers aware of learning styles and learning strategies through appropriate training.
Our Teaching Approach
Our instruction is tailored to students in terms of age, level and individual needs.
We will employ a mixture of teaching styles, where students will be offered a variety of learning opportunities to accommodate their needs. Whether students work individually or in small groups, we prepare interactive teaching and learning activities encompassing visual, verbal and physical motion approaches to help students encounter new information, develop skills, try out ideas and build knowledge.
As students will each benefit in their own mode, at the same time, we encourage them to develop their ability to learn in different approaches. By doing this we can assist them in becoming more effective learners.
Our Teaching Materials
In teaching all Language Courses, textbooks and a range of supplementary materials (e.g. CD-ROMs, films, newspaper articles, magazines, etc.) are used during class time.
For Exam Prep & Academic Courses, the teaching materials are custom made by the teachers according to their long experience.
