本署最近發現有市民透過互聯網站，出售沒有合法來源証明的受管制瀕危物種，例如活生猴子、蟒蛇及陸龜等。請注意，無論透過網站或以任何其他方式進行瀕危物種貿易，而沒有事先領有本署簽發的進口/管有許可證，可能已觸犯法例。根據香港法例第586章《保護瀕危動植物物種條例》，除指定獲豁免的情況外，任何人士進口、出口或管有法例列明的瀕危物種，必須事先向本署申領許可證。違例者一經定罪，最高可被判罰款港幣五百萬元及監禁兩年。

漁農自然護理署WARNING: Illegal trading of endangered species on the InternetThe Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) has recently found that there are trading in endangered species from illegal source via the internet, such as live monkeys, pythons and land tortoises. Please be reminded that trading in endangered species via the internet or through any other means without an import/ a possession licence issued by AFCD may constitute an offence. Under the Protection of Endangered Species of Animals and Plants Ordinance (Cap. 586), except with specified exemptions, a person who imports, exports or possesses a specimen of a scheduled endangered species must obtain a licence in advance from the AFCD. Offenders are liable on conviction to a maximum penalty of a fine of HK$ 5 million and imprisonment for 2 years.
